Bengal National Chamber of Commerce & Industry ( BNCCI ) was established on 2nd February, 1887. It is the oldest organization of this kind being setup by the then Indian businessmen. The Chamber, now being a leading Chamber of Commerce in the eastern region of India, is represented by a wide cross-section of industry, trade and commerce. The Chamber maintains close and continuous contacts with the State Government of West Bengal and the Government of India and other concerned organizations. BNCCI takes pride of India, in its century old tradition of service to the business community.
We began our operation with the support and co-operation of some of the nationalist leaders of the time. We always propagated the need for the growth of industry, trade and commerce and for the speedy all-round development of the country as well as improvement of the quality of life of its people.
We have been largely involved in the development of industry, trade and commerce, particularly in the eastern region of India since independence of the country from the British rule in August 1947. |
